Just watched the re-broadcast last night and wanted to share my thoughts. I have slowly become a big fan of Mayweather. I think it all started when Roy Jones, Jr retired - I had to find another favorite fighter. I've been watching Mayweather for some time but didn't really care for him. I thought he was over-rated and a lot of hype. A few of the fights I've seen from him appeared to be given to him without a lot of effort on his part. Maybe one of those he didn't even deserve. With all that being said, Mayweather has somewhat transformed himself into something different than what he was before. Now more of a controlled boxer that's willing to mix it up if need be. His defense is outstanding and his power speaks for itself (not the greatest but still gets the job done). He's smart and does a good job sizing up his opponent then either countering with precision or going on the offensive. He seems to have it all!
Anyway, this fight was interesting. I saw the complete fight as Judah just being outclassed, outsized, and specifically out-conditioned. Judah sucked air from the 4th round till the end. His mouth remained open and never closed after the 4th. He just couldn't hang with the bigger, more conditioned Mayweather.
I was impressed that Judah did hit Mayweather with a hammering blow in an earlier round that put Mayweather to the canvas (ruled a slip in Mayweather's favor). There were very few blows from that point that seemed to have any power from Judah. Everytime he tried to throw a big shot he practically was lunging with his whole body. Mayweather on the other hand took the fight into his own hands after the 4th and never let up. He pressured the weaker Judah every round and there was nothing Judah could do about it.
**The LOW blow** Not sure this was intentional but the blow to the back of Mayweather's head had to be. Judah seemed to aiming for a low blow, but if you look at the replay you will notice that just as Judah launches, Mayweather throws a right hand (I think right) that clobbers Judah. It could be this right hand altered Judah shot into a seemingly intentional low blow. The melee from the corners afterwards was just plain ridiculous and entertaining. If the low blow wasn't intentional, the shot from Judah to the back of Roger Mayweather's head certainly was. In the replay he was circling and sneaking around to position himself for the cheap shot! How unfortunate for boxing.
One more thing I found unusual from Mayweather - his defensive posture. Always before he seemed to keep one hand up around the side of his face and turn his body on an axis at the hips toward and away from his opponent with his other hand down. I didn't see him do this during the fight. I think Mayweather looked more like a typical boxer than ever before. Maybe he trained this habit out of his system. Although looking more typical, he's far from it.
